Year 5 - Makaton
Year 5 learnt about Makaton.
Year 5 had a visit from Mrs Harris' daughter, JJ, on Tuesday to learn about Makaton which is a form of sign language used with spoken language. JJ is training to be Teacher working with children with special needs and uses this form of communication all the time. The children in Year 5 learned to say 'dog', 'cat', 'toilet', 'my name is', 'the letters of the alphabet', 'please' and 'thank you'. They had a fabulous time. Huge thanks to JJ for giving up her time to join us.
